Dual Layer Constructed Walls

They are built with two extruded aluminum panels, which envelop a honeycombed-shaped core that evenly distributes strength along all of the pool’s walls. The Storm We’ll Never Forget

In La Plata, Maryland, on April 28, 2002, a severe thunderstorm moved from Shenandoah County, Virginia, and created a storm cell that spun a half-mile-wide tornado. This magnificent feat of nature hit Charles County and moved through the region, covering an astounding 24 miles.

It didn’t take long for the F-4 tornado, with winds between 207-260 mph, to reach the town of La Plata, nearly destroying the town’s business district. While destruction occurred swiftly, touching nearly every home and business, it also created a testimony to the durability of Kayak above-ground pools.

Hurricane Ian and the Pool That Survived

Another instance in which Kayak Pools displayed their unmatched durability was during Hurricane Ian. The Kayak pools in Cape Coral where the hurricane hit weren’t damaged at all, withstanding winds over 150 mph.

The pool in these pictures displays the strength of the pool. According to the owner, the water went clear over the top of the pool fence, but when the hurricane reversed direction, the water was sucked completely out, and the damage was done.
